Is Jesus Christ the Son of God? Is He
Divine or GOD?
By Andrew Sui
In
order to know the historical Jesus, the best source of information is His
biographies written by His Apostles and Disciples. Archaeologists have
conclusively shown that 4 biographies of Christ were written within the
lifetime of contemporaries of Jesus Christ. Dr. William F. Albright,
world-famous archaeology now retired from Johns Hopkins University, said
that there was no reason to believe that any of the Gospels was written
later than A.D. 70. Jesus Christ is more than a prophet. This
spiritual truth is not taught by angel nor by man but by revelation
through Jesus Himself. His birth, ministry on earth, crucifixion,
resurrection, and ascension to heaven shall
authenticate His true identity. The
reliability of the credentials in the Bible should not be doubted as they are either
apostles or disciples of Jesus
Christ. They were the eye-witnesses who saw and heard what Lord Jesus said and
each wrote a biography about Him independantly. The setup for determining the truth is
akin to the criteria used in the Court of Law in accordance with Mosaic law of
the Torah. At least 3 witnesses are required to establish the matter. Let us examine the
scriptural
passages about Jesus Christ as why He is more than a prophet from 30 Reasons
given below .

-
Jesus was
prophesied about 680 years in the Book of Isaiah Chapter 53 before his birth. He is the
one who bare the sin of many. Who can bare the sin, only God is able? In Isaiah
53:4-12, the prophecy of prophet Isaiah is as follows:
|
Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did
esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted.
|
|
But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our
iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with
his stripes we are healed.
|
|
All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his
own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.
|
|
He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth:
he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her
shearers is dumb, so he openeth not his mouth.
|
|
He was taken from prison and from judgment: and who shall declare his
generation? for he was cut off out of the land of the living: for the
transgression of my people was he stricken.
|
|
And he made his grave with the wicked, and with the rich in his death;
because he had done no violence, neither was any deceit in his
mouth.
|
|
Yet it pleased the LORD to bruise him; he hath put him to grief:
when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see
his seed, he shall prolong his days, and the pleasure of the LORD
shall prosper in his hand.
|
|
He shall see of the travail of his soul, and shall be satisfied: by
his knowledge shall my righteous servant justify many; for he shall
bear their iniquities.
|
|
Therefore will I divide him a portion with the great, and he shall
divide the spoil with the strong; because he hath poured out his soul
unto death: and he was numbered with the transgressors; and he
bare the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors.
|
In 2 Peter 1:20-21,
Apostle Peter says: "Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the
scripture is of any private interpretation. For the prophecy came not in
old time by the will of man: but holy men of God
spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost. "... For the
testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy" (Revelation 19:10).
Prophecy of the scripture is above all for the purpose to testify about
Jesus the Son of GOD.
Jesus' birth was fulfilled in the New
Testament as recorded in the Gospel according to Matthew, Mark, Luke and
John. There are many testifying that Jesus Christ is Son of God and Jesus
Christ is greater than any other prophets.

Jesus Christ was
born by a virgin who was conceived through the Holy Ghost. In Matthew
1:18-25, Apostle Matthew testifies as follows:
|
Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise: When as his mother
Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was
found with child of the Holy Ghost.
|
|
Then Joseph her husband, being a just man, and not willing to make her
a publick example, was minded to put her away privily.
|
|
But while he thought on these things, behold, the angel of the LORD
appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear
not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in
her is of the Holy Ghost.
|
|
And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name
JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.
|
|
Now all this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of
the Lord by the prophet, saying,
|
|
Behold, a virgin shall be with child,
and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.
|
|
Then Joseph being raised from sleep did as the angel of the Lord had
bidden him, and took unto him his wife:
|
|
And knew her not till she had brought forth her firstborn son:
and he called his name JESUS.
|
As Mary was engaged
to Joseph who has no carnal relationship with her until Jesus was born,
who should be called His Father?
In Matthew 22:41-46, Apostle Matthew
testifies as follows:-
|
While the Pharisees (religious leaders) were gathered together,
Jesus asked them,
|
|
Saying, What think ye of Christ? whose son is
he? They say unto him, The son of David.
|
|
He saith unto them, How then doth David in spirit call him Lord,
saying,
|
|
The LORD said unto my Lord, Sit thou on my
right hand, till I make thine enemies thy footstool?
|
|
If David then call him Lord, how is he his
son?
|
|
And no man was able to answer him a word, neither durst any man from
that day forth ask him any more questions.
|
The above
Bible verses show that Jesus'
conception is by the power of God and through the agency of His Spirit and
not through a carnal relationship with a man. In John 3:6, Jesus said:
"That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of
the Spirit is spirit." As it was the Spirit of God who begat Jesus,
He has a divine source.
Nevertheless, Jesus is known as Son of Man because He was born by
Virgin Mary. Is He truly the Son of Joseph or Son of Mary or the Son of
GOD? Now the gender of a child is scientifically proven to be
determined by the chromosome in the sperm of a man. The woman's ova does
not determine the gender of the child. As the conception of Jesus came
from the source of the Holy Ghost, God is legally and rightfully the
Father of the child. It is unnatural for a virgin to conceive
without a father. Thus by logical explanation, God is the Father of Jesus
and He is the Son of God. Who else testify that Jesus is the Son of God?

Angel
Gabriel declares Jesus is the Son of
God. In Luke 1:26-38 & 22:70-71, Dr. Luke testifies as follows:
|
And in the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent from God unto a
city of Galilee, named Nazareth,
|
|
To a virgin espoused to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of
David; and the virgin's name was Mary.
|
|
And the angel came in unto her, and said, Hail, thou that art highly
favoured, the Lord is with thee: blessed art thou among women.
|
|
And when she saw him, she was troubled at his saying, and cast in her
mind what manner of salutation this should be.
|
|
And the angel said unto her, Fear not, Mary: for thou hast found
favour with God.
|
|
And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a
son, and shalt call his name JESUS.
|
|
He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and
the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David:
|
|
And he shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his
kingdom there shall be no end.
|
|
Then said Mary unto the angel, How shall this be, seeing I know not a
man?
|
|
And the Angel answered and said
unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the
Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which
shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of
God.
|
|
And, behold, thy cousin Elisabeth, she hath also conceived a son in
her old age: and this is the sixth month with her, who was called
barren.
|
|
For with God nothing shall be impossible.
|
|
And Mary said, Behold the handmaid of the Lord; be it unto me
according to thy word. And the angel departed from her.

Jesus' own
confession that He is the Son of God. But the Jews accused Him of
blasphemy and crucified him. In Luke 22:66-71, Dr. Luke testifies
that Jesus admitted that He is the Son of God.
22:66
|
And as soon as it was day, the elders of the people and the chief
priests and the scribes came together, and led him into their council,
saying,
22:67
|
Art thou the Christ? tell us. And he said unto them, If I tell you, ye will not believe:
22:68
|
And if I also ask you, ye will not answer me,
nor let me go.
22:69
|
Hereafter shall the Son of man sit on the
right hand of the power of God.
22:70
|
Then said they all, Art thou then the Son
of God? And he said unto them, Ye
say that I am.
22:71
|
And they said, What need we any further witness? for we
ourselves have heard of his own mouth.
|
| | | | |
The Gospel of Luke is trustworthy because the
author Luke was a physician (Colossians 4:14) and was highly educated.
Thus he was a professional and did not simply write the Gospel without any
perfect understanding. In Luke 1:26-38, Dr. Luke testifies that he, having
had perfect understanding of all things from the very first, was good for
him to write it down in order.
1:1
|
Forasmuch as many have taken in hand to set forth in order a
declaration of those things which are most surely believed among
us,
|
1:2
|
Even as they delivered them unto us, which from the beginning were
eyewitnesses, and ministers of the word;
|
1:3
|
It seemed good to me also, having had perfect understanding of
all things from the very first, to write unto thee in order, most
excellent Theophilus,
|
In John 10:34-36, Apostle John testifies that
Jesus said "I am the Son of God" as follows:
10:34
|
Jesus answered them, Is it not written in your law, I said,
Ye are gods?
|
10:35
|
If he called them gods, unto whom the word of God came, and the scripture cannot be broken;
|
10:36
|
Say ye of him, whom the Father hath sanctified, and sent into the
world, Thou blasphemest; because I said, I am
the Son of God?
|
Jesus'
testimony is true in accordance with Mossaic law. His own confession as
the Son of GOD is perfectly a valid claim. Whosoever say He is not the
Son of GOD is a blasphemer -- distorting the word of the Son of GOD.
|
Jesus answered
and said unto them, Though I bear record of myself,
yet my record {testimony} is true: for I know whence I came, and whither
I go; but ye cannot tell whence I come, and whither I go.
|
|
Ye judge
after the flesh; I judge no man.
|
|
And
yet if I judge, my judgment is true: for I am not alone, but I and the
Father that sent me.
|
|
It is also
written in your law, that the testimony of two
men is true.
|
|
I
am one that bear witness of myself, and the Father that sent me beareth
witness of me.
|
|
Then said
they unto him, Where is thy Father? Jesus answered, Ye neither know me,
nor my Father: if ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also.
|
In John 12:49-50, 14:10-11, 15:14-15, Jesus declares that whatever He speaks is the words of
His Father and that His Father dwells in Him. He has made known all things
that He heard of His father.
12:49
|
For I have not spoken of myself; but the Father which sent me, he
gave me a commandment, what I should say, and what I should speak.
12:50
|
And I know that his commandment is life everlasting: whatsoever I speak therefore, even as the Father said
unto me, so I speak.
|
|
|
14:10
|
Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me?
the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works.
14:11
|
Believe me that I am in the Father, and the
Father in me: or else believe me for
the very works' sake.
|
|
|
15:14
|
Ye are my friends, if ye do
whatsoever I command you.
15:15
|
Henceforth I call you not servants; for the servant knoweth not what
his lord doeth: but I have called you friends; for
all things that I have heard of my Father I have made known unto you.

The credentials of Jesus
back up his claims as God. Gospel of John reveals that Jesus and His Father
are One. This perfect union between the Father and Jesus His Son is not
allegorical but literal words of Jesus Christ. In John 10:29 "My
Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and
no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand."
It is clear that Jesus' Father is greater than all (gods & man). As
Jesus and His Father are One (John 10:30), it is concluded that
Jesus is also GOD and greater than all! The
Jews understood of Jesus' claim to divinity and accused Him of blasphemy. In John 10:24-38, Apostle John testifies
as follows:-
10:24
|
Then came the Jews round about him, and said unto him, How long dost
thou make us to doubt If thou be the Christ, tell us plainly.
|
10:25
|
Jesus answered them, I told you, and ye
believed not: the works that I do in my Father's name, they bear witness
of me.
|
10:26
|
But ye believe not, because ye are not of my sheep, as I said unto
you.
|
10:27
|
My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and
they follow me:
|
10:28
|
And I give unto them eternal life; and they
shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of
my hand.
|
10:29
|
My Father, which gave them me, is greater
than all; and no man is
able to pluck them out of my Father's hand.
|
10:30
|
I and my Father are one.
|
10:31
|
Then the Jews took up stones again to stone him.
|
10:32
|
Jesus answered them, Many good works have I shewed
you from my Father; for which of those works do ye stone me
|
10:33
|
The Jews answered him, saying, For a good work we stone thee not; but
for blasphemy; and because that thou,
being a man, makest thyself God.
|
10:34
|
Jesus answered them, Is it not written in your
law, I said, Ye are gods
|
10:35
|
If he called them gods, unto whom the word of God came, and the
scripture cannot be broken;
|
10:36
|
Say ye of him, whom the Father hath sanctified, and sent into the world,
Thou blasphemest; because I said, I am the Son
of God
|
10:37
|
If I do not the works of my Father, believe
me not.
|
10:38
|
But if I do, though ye believe not me, believe the works: that
ye may know, and believe, that the Father is in me, and I in him.
|
Now let us
further analyze Jesus' statement "I and my
Father are One" (John 10:30). To understand what is
"One", let us refer to the cross-text in Deutronomy 6:4, Mark
12:29 and Galatians 3:20 (KJV) which clearly shows that GOD is ONE.
|
Deutronomy 6:4 |
6:4
|
Moses said: Hear, O Israel: The LORD our
God is ONE LORD:
|
|
|
|
Mark 12:29 |
12:29
|
And Jesus answered him, The first of all
the commandments is, Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is ONE Lord:
|
|
|
|
Galatians 3:20 |
3:20
|
Apostle Paul wrote: Now a mediator is not
a mediator of one, but God is ONE.
|
One is associated with the creator GOD, though
it does not symbolise Him. In the sense that GOD is unique and there is
none like unto Him, the number one is associated with Him. Being one and
only GOD, there can be no other besides Him. So Jesus' statement "I and my Father are One" means that "My
Father is GOD and I am GOD". We heard from
the lips of Jesus, He said " I am the Son of God" in John 10:36.
The word "Barnabas" means "Son of Consolation". Every surname
carries with it information, the biodata or genetic code. To decode the
name Barnabas "son of consolation", it means consoler. Son of
Man means man. Son of God means GOD. Let
us listen to what God the Father says about Jesus. By calling Abba Father
(Mark 14:36),
Jesus already demonstrates the close relationship that He has with God.
Did God the Father acknowledge that Jesus is His SON? This is important to
vindicate that the relationship is mutually conclusive and of legal effect.
If attested, then this relationship between GOD the Father and His SON
should be acknowledged without further question as it is fully recognised
even in the Court of Law.

God the Father
declares to Jesus when he received the water baptism"Thou art my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased"
- this is the first occasion.
The author of Gospel of Mark is John Mark who was one of the companions of
Apostle Paul. John Mark was not an original 12 Apostles but wrote the
Gospel by inspiration of the Holy Ghost. Gospel of Mark if not in truth would have been rejected
by Believers of his time. In Mark 1:1-11, John Mark testifies as follows:-
|
The beginning of the gospel of Jesus Christ, the
Son of God;
|
|
As it is written in the prophets, Behold, I send my messenger before
thy face, which shall prepare thy way before thee.
|
|
The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the
Lord, make his paths straight.
|
|
John {the Baptist} did baptize in the wilderness, and preach the baptism of
repentance for the remission of sins.
|
|
And there went out unto him all the land of Judaea, and they of
Jerusalem, and were all baptized of him in the river of Jordan,
confessing their sins.
|
|
And John was clothed with camel's hair, and with a girdle of a skin
about his loins; and he did eat locusts and wild honey;
|
|
And preached, saying, There cometh one
mightier than I after me, the latchet of whose shoes I am not worthy
to stoop down and unloose.
|
|
I indeed have baptized you with water: but He
shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost.
|
|
And it came to pass in those days, that Jesus came from Nazareth of
Galilee, and was baptized of John in Jordan.
|
|
And straightway coming up out of the water, he saw the heavens
opened, and the Spirit like a dove descending upon him:
|
|
And there came a voice from heaven, saying, Thou
art my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.
|
Apostle Matthew recorded
the similar account when Jesus received the water
baptism, the voice from heaven declaring " This is my
beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased." Apostle
Matthew remembered the event clearly because the Holy Ghost would bring
all things to his remembrance. (John 14:26) But
the Comforter, which is
the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in
my name, He shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your
remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.
3:16
|
And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the
water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit
of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him:
3:17
|
And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom
I am well pleased.
|
|
Is
there any other ocassion that God spoke from heaven, "you are my
beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased."? Let us listen to what
Apostle Simon Peter have to say.
TOP
-
Apostle Simon Peter testifies that he heard the Father in
heaven called Jesus His beloved Son when he was on Holy Mountain - this is
the second occasion. In Epistle of
2 Peter 1:1-2 & 16-21, Apostle Simon Peter says:-
|
Simon Peter, a servant and an apostle of Jesus Christ, to them that
have obtained like precious faith with us through the righteousness of
God and our Saviour Jesus Christ:
|
|
Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God,
and of Jesus our Lord,
|
|
For we have not followed cunningly devised fables, when we made known
unto you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but were
eyewitnesses of his majesty.
|
|
For he received from God the Father honour
and glory, when there came such a voice to him from the excellent
glory, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am
well pleased.
|
|
And this voice which came from heaven we heard, when we were with
him in the holy mount.
|
Apostle
Matthew also recorded the transfiguration on holy mountain when the Spirit
of God declared to Jesus that "This is my beloved Son, in whom I am
well pleased", in Matthew 17:1-6.
17:1 |
And after six days Jesus taketh
Peter, James, and John his brother,
and bringeth them up into an high mountain apart,
17:2 |
And was transfigured before them: and his face did shine as the sun,
and his raiment was white as the light.
17:3 |
And, behold, there appeared unto them Moses and Elias talking with
him.
17:4 |
Then answered Peter, and said unto Jesus, Lord, it is good for us to
be here: if thou wilt, let us make here three tabernacles; one for thee,
and one for Moses, and one for Elias.
17:5 |
While he yet spake, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them: and
behold a voice out of the cloud, which said, This is my beloved Son, in
whom I am well pleased; hear ye him.
17:6 |
And when the disciples heard it, they fell on their face, and were
sore afraid.
|
| | | | |
In Matthew 16:16-17, it says: And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the
Christ (Messiah in Hebrew), the Son of the living
GOD. And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou,
Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but
my
Father which is in heaven.
There was
a third occasion shortly before the crucifixion of Jesus where the voice
came out of heaven as witness for the disciples and people there so that they will not
mistaken his true identity - the Son of God. In John 12-27-30, Jesus said:
12:27 |
Now is my soul troubled; and
what shall I say? Father, save me from this hour: but for this cause
came I unto this hour.
12:28 |
Father, glorify thy name.
Then came there a voice from heaven, saying, I have both glorified it,
and will glorify it again.
12:29 |
The people therefore, that
stood by, and heard it, said that it thundered: others said, An angel
spake to him.
12:30 |
Jesus answered and said,
This voice came not because of me, but for your sakes.
|
12:31 |
Now is the judgment of this
world: now shall {Satan} the prince of this world be cast out.
12:32 |
And I, if I be lifted up
from the earth, will draw all men unto me.
12:33 |
This he said, signifying
what death he should die.

Jesus was
incarnated Word of God and dwell among us. In John 1: 1-3 & 14,
1:29-34, Apostle John testifies that Jesus is the Son of God:
|
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word
was God.
|
|
The same was in the beginning with God.
|
|
All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made
that was made.
|
|
And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld
his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of
grace and truth.
|
|
The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold
the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.
|
|
This is he of whom I said, After me cometh a man which is preferred
before me: for he was before me.
|
|
And I knew him not: but that he should be made manifest to Israel,
therefore am I come baptizing with water.
|
|
And John bare record, saying, I saw the Spirit descending from heaven
like a dove, and it abode upon him.
|
|
And I knew him not: but he that sent me to baptize with water, the
same said unto me, Upon whom thou shalt see the Spirit descending,
and remaining on him, the same is He which
baptizeth with the Holy Ghost.
|
|
And I saw, and bare record that this is the
Son of God.

Apostle
Paul
testifies that Jesus is the Son of God. In Acts 9:1-20, Apostle Paul
(formerly known as Saul) testifies as follows:
|
And Saul, yet breathing out threatenings and slaughter against the
disciples of the Lord, went unto the high priest,
|
|
And desired of him letters to Damascus to the synagogues, that if he
found any of this way, whether they were men or women, he might bring
them bound unto Jerusalem.
|
|
And as he journeyed, he came near Damascus: and suddenly there shined
round about him a light from heaven:
|
|
And he fell to the earth, and heard a voice saying unto him, Saul,
Saul, why persecutest thou me?
|
|
And he said, Who art thou, Lord? And the Lord said, I am Jesus whom thou persecutest: it is hard for thee
to kick against the pricks.
|
|
And he trembling and astonished said, Lord, what wilt thou have me to
do? And the Lord said unto him, Arise, and go into the city, and it
shall be told thee what thou must do.
|
|
And the men which journeyed with him stood speechless, hearing a
voice, but seeing no man.
|
|
And Saul arose from the earth; and when his eyes were opened, he saw
no man: but they led him by the hand, and brought him into Damascus.
|
|
And he was three days without sight, and neither did eat nor drink.
|
|
And there was a certain disciple at Damascus, named Ananias;
and to him said the Lord in a vision, Ananias. And he said, Behold, I
am here, Lord.
|
|
And the Lord said unto him, Arise, and go into the street which is
called Straight, and enquire in the house of Judas for one called
Saul, of Tarsus: for, behold, he prayeth,
|
|
And hath seen in a vision a man named Ananias coming in, and putting
his hand on him, that he might receive his sight.
|
|
Then Ananias answered, Lord, I have heard by many of this man, how
much evil he hath done to thy saints at Jerusalem:
|
|
And here he hath authority from the chief priests to bind all that
call on thy name.
|
|
But the Lord said unto him, Go thy way: for he is a chosen vessel
unto me, to bear my name before the Gentiles, and kings, and the
children of Israel:
|
|
For I will shew him how great things he must
suffer for my name's sake.
|
|
And Ananias went his way, and entered into the house; and putting his
hands on him said, Brother Saul, the Lord, even Jesus, that
appeared unto thee in the way as thou camest, hath sent me, that thou
mightest receive thy sight, and be filled with the Holy Ghost.
|
|
And immediately there fell from his eyes as it had been scales: and he
received sight forthwith, and arose, and was baptized.
|
|
And when he had received meat, he was strengthened. Then was Saul
certain days with the disciples which were at Damascus.
|
|
And straightway he preached Christ in the synagogues, that he is the Son of God.

The
prerogative
of God is to deserve worship. Jesus is worshipped as God even when he was
a young child. In Matthew 2:1-11, Apostle Matthew testifies
that wise men (not fools) came to search for Baby Jesus and worship Him
2:1
|
Now when Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judaea in the days of Herod
the king, behold, there came wise men from
the east to Jerusalem,
|
2:2
|
Saying, Where is he that is born King of the Jews for we have seen
his star in the east, and are come to worship him.
|
2:3
|
When Herod the king had heard these things, he was troubled, and all
Jerusalem with him.
|
2:4
|
And when he had gathered all the chief priests and scribes of the people
together, he demanded of them where Christ should be born.
|
2:5
|
And they said unto him, In Bethlehem of Judaea: for thus it is written
by the prophet,
|
2:6
|
And thou Bethlehem, in the land of Juda, art not the least among the
princes of Juda: for out of thee shall come a Governor, that shall rule
my people Israel.
|
2:7
|
Then Herod, when he had privily called the wise men, enquired of them
diligently what time the star appeared.
|
2:8
|
And he sent them to Bethlehem, and said, Go and search diligently for
the young child; and when ye have found him, bring me word again, that
I may come and worship him also.
|
2:9
|
When they had heard the king, they departed; and, lo, the star, which
they saw in the east, went before them, till it came and stood over where
the young child was.
|
2:10
|
When they saw the star, they rejoiced with exceeding great joy.
|
2:11
|
And when they were come into the house, they saw the young child
with Mary his mother, and fell down, and worshipped
him: and when they had opened their treasures, they presented unto
him gifts; gold, and frankincense, and myrrh.
|
In Matthew 14:25-33, Apostle Matthew testifies
that Jesus' disciples worship Him.
14:25
|
And in the fourth watch of the night Jesus went unto them, walking
on the sea.
|
14:26
|
And when the disciples saw him walking on the sea, they were troubled,
saying, It is a spirit; and they cried out for fear.
|
14:27
|
But straightway Jesus spake unto them, saying, Be of good cheer; it
is I; be not afraid.
|
14:28
|
And Peter answered him and said, Lord, if it be thou, bid me come unto
thee on the water.
|
14:29
|
And he said, Come. And when Peter was come
down out of the ship, he walked on the water, to go to Jesus.
|
14:30
|
But when he saw the wind boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to
sink, he cried, saying, Lord, save me.
|
14:31
|
And immediately Jesus stretched forth his hand, and caught him, and
said unto him, O thou of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt?
|
14:32
|
And when they were come into the ship, the wind ceased.
|
14:33
|
Then they that were in the ship came and worshipped
him, saying, Of a truth thou art the Son of God.
|
A man born blind received sight and
worshipped Jesus. In John 9:32-38, Apostle John testifies as follows:
9:32
|
Since the world began was it not heard that any man opened the eyes
of one that was born blind.
|
9:33
|
If this man were not of God, he could do nothing.
|
9:34
|
They answered and said unto him, Thou wast altogether born in sins,
and dost thou teach us? And they cast him out.
|
9:35
|
Jesus heard that they had cast him out; and when he had found him,
he said unto him, Dost thou believe on the Son
of God?
|
9:36
|
He answered and said, Who is he, Lord, that I might believe on him?
|
9:37
|
And Jesus said unto him, Thou hast both seen
him, and it is he that talketh with thee.
|
9:38
|
And he said, Lord, I believe. And he worshipped
Him.
|
In Hebrew 1:5-8,
Apostle Paul who knows Brother Timothy (Hebrew 13:23) testifies as follows:
1:5
|
For unto which of the angels said he at any time, Thou art my Son,
this day have I begotten thee? And again, I will be to him a Father,
and he shall be to me a Son?
|
1:6
|
And again, when he bringeth in the first begotten into the world, he
saith, And let all the angels of God worship him.
|
1:7
|
And of the angels he saith, Who maketh his angels spirits, and his
ministers a flame of fire.
|
1:8
|
But unto the Son he saith, Thy throne, O God,
is for ever and ever: a sceptre of righteousness is the sceptre of thy
kingdom.
|
Even Angels do not deserve to be worshipped but God alone. Why Allah command
angels to bow down to Adam (Sura 2:34) and not to Himself? What God has verily said about
this issue in John 22:8-9? (Allah is not God of the Bible, we shall discuss it
further in the next page.)
22:8
|
And I John saw these things, and heard them. And when I had heard and
seen, I fell down to worship before the feet of the angel which shewed
me these things.
22:9
|
Then saith he unto me, See thou do it not: for I am thy fellowservant, and of thy brethren the prophets,
and of them which keep the sayings of this book: worship GOD.

Boy Jesus has an
unique relationship with God. He addressed God as His Father as young as
12 years old. He was not taught by his parents that God is His Father. In
Luke 2:41-50, Dr. Luke testifies on this spiritual truth.
|
Now his parents went to Jerusalem every year at the feast of the
passover.
|
|
And when he was twelve years old, they went up to Jerusalem
after the custom of the feast.
|
|
And when they had fulfilled the days, as they returned, the child
Jesus tarried behind in Jerusalem; and Joseph and his mother knew
not of it.
|
|
But they, supposing him to have been in the company, went a day's
journey; and they sought him among their kinsfolk and
acquaintance.
|
|
And when they found him not, they turned back again to Jerusalem,
seeking him.
|
|
And it came to pass, that after three days they found him in the
temple, sitting in the midst of the doctors, both hearing them,
and asking them questions.
|
|
And all that heard him were astonished at his understanding and
answers.
|
|
And when they saw him, they were amazed: and his mother said unto him,
Son, why hast thou thus dealt with us? behold, thy father and I
have sought thee sorrowing.
|
|
And he said unto them, How is it that ye sought me? wist ye not
that I must be about my Father's business?
|
|
And they understood not the saying which he spake unto them.
|
God is the Father of
Jesus Christ. By law of logic, as His Father is God, so He is Son of God.
In John 20:17, Apostle John testifies Jesus' Father is GOD:
|
Jesus saith unto her, Touch me not; for I am not yet ascended to my
Father: but go to my brethren, and say unto them, I ascend unto my Father, and your Father; and to my God, and your God.
|
The similitute in words of Jesus "my Father, and your Father; and to my God, and your God" clearly means Jesus' Father is GOD and your Father in
heaven is GOD.
Are there any other passages to affirm that the Father of Lord Jesus
is GOD?
In Matthew 10:32-33, Lord Jesus also said His Father is in
heaven. Who is He?
10:32 |
Whosoever therefore shall
confess me before men, him will I confess also before my Father which
is in heaven.
10:33 |
But whosoever shall deny me
before men, him will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven.
|
|
Matthew
16:15-17
16:15 |
He{Jesus} saith unto them,
But whom say ye that I am?
16:16 |
And Simon Peter answered and
said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God.
16:17
|
And Jesus answered and said
unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not
revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven.
|
| |
Lord Jesus
from His own words in John 8:42 & 54, tells us beyond reasonable doubt
that His Father is GOD and He came from GOD
8:42
|
Jesus said unto them, If God were your Father, ye would love me: for I proceeded forth and came from God;
neither came I of myself, but he sent me.
|
8:54
|
Jesus answered, If I honour myself, my honour is nothing: it is my Father that honoureth me; of whom ye say, that he is your God:

Unclean Spirits
(demons) knew Jesus is the Son of God. Satan too knew Jesus is the Son
of God and tempted Him to sin so as to satisfy his hunger (of the flesh)
which Adam & Eve failed and sinned against God. The failure of man is documented
in Genesis 3:6, Moses testifies:
3:6
|
And when the woman saw that
the tree was
good for food, and that it was pleasant to the
eyes, and a
tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and
did eat, and gave also unto her husband with
her; and he did eat.
|
In Mark 3:11, Mark testifies: And
unclean spirits, when they saw him, fell down before him, and cried,
saying, Thou art the Son of God.
Jesus
is the Son of God and worthy of insult otherwise Satan will not bother to tempt Him with the
very word
"if thou be the Son of God '. Jesus is
worthy to be tempted because He is the one who reclaimed the three areas
where Eve failed when tempted by Satan in the Garden of Eden. The lust of
the flesh, the lust of the eyes and the pride of life which Jesus won by
quoting the written scripture against Satan (Matthew 4:3-11). Apostle John
in 1 John 2:16 says "For all that is in the world, the lust of the
flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life,
is not of the Father, but is of the world." In Matthew 4:3, Apostle Matthew testifies:
4:3
|
And when the tempter came to him, he said, If thou be the
Son of God, command that these stones be made
bread.
|
Jesus the Son of God
did not fall into the temptation because He
obey the will of God the Father and not Satan.

Jesus said "I came forth from the Father, and am come into the
world: again, I leave the world, and go
to the Father." (John 16:28)
In John 8:42 Jesus said unto them, If God were your Father, ye would love me: for I
proceeded forth and came from God; neither came I of myself, but he
sent me. In John 8:58, "Jesus
said unto them, Verily, verily,
I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I Am." How old was Jesus when he said before Abraham was, I
am {existed}? In John 16:27 Jesus said:
"For the Father himself
loveth you, because ye have loved me, and have believed
that I came out from God." Jesus was not speaking
the figure of speech. He further affirms that He was with God before the world exists. In John 17:5, Jesus said: And now, O Father, glorify thou
me with thine own self with the glory which
I had with thee before the world was. No doubt, Jesus is the incarnation of God.
Before
Jesus came to the world He already spoke through Prophet Isaiah and
identified Himself as "I am the first and I am the last". Prophet Isaiah prophesied in Isaiah 44:6 that the LORD the King of Israel and
His redeemer {Jesus Christ } the LORD of hosts
said beside Me {singular} there is no God.
44:6 |
Thus saith the LORD the King of Israel, and his redeemer the
LORD of hosts; I am the first, and I am the last; and beside me there is no God.
|
It is sure that Jesus Christ was
speaking through the prophets as confirmed
in 1 Peter 1:10-11:
1:10
|
Of which salvation the prophets have enquired and searched
diligently, who prophesied of the grace that should come unto you:
1:11
|
Searching what, or what manner of time the
Spirit of Christ which
was in them did signify, when it testified beforehand the sufferings of
Christ, and the glory that should follow.
|
|
After
Jesus' ascension to Heaven, He again identified Himself as " I am the first and I am the last" as
recorded in the Book of Revelation 1:8 & 2:8:
1:8
|
I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord,
which is, and which was, and which is to come, the
Almighty.
|
2:8
|
And unto the angel of the church in Smyrna write; These things saith
the first and the last, which was dead, and is
alive;

Jesus fulfilled 2
signs prophesied
by him before the occurence of the events. Isn't He GOD as only God holds
and knows future events with perfect accuracy.
-
Jesus said he would raise the temple in 3 days.
In John 2:18-22, we read that Jesus' body as temple of GOD will be raised up in 3 days.
2:18
|
Then answered
the Jews and said unto him, What sign shewest
thou unto us, seeing that thou doest these things?
|
2:19
|
Jesus answered
and said unto them, Destroy this temple, and in
three days I will raise it up.
|
2:20
|
Then said
the Jews, Forty and six years was this temple in building, and wilt
thou rear it up in three days?
|
2:21
|
But he spake
of the temple of his body.
|
2:22
|
When therefore
he was risen from the dead, his disciples remembered that he had said
this unto them; and they believed the scripture,
and the word which Jesus had said.
|
-
Jesus, the Son of GOD
said he would be in the heart of earth {Hell} for 3 days and 3 nights. In
Matthew 12:38-41, Apostle John
testifies:
12:38
|
Then certain of the Scribes and of the Pharisees answered, saying, Master,
we would see a sign from thee.
12:39
|
But he answered and said unto them, An evil and
adulterous generation seeketh after a sign; and there shall no sign be given
to it, but the sign of the prophet Jonas:
12:40
|
For as Jonas was three days and three nights in
the whale's belly; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in
the
heart of the earth.
12:41
|
The men of Nineveh shall rise in judgment with
this generation, and shall condemn it: because they repented at the preaching
of Jonas; and, behold, a greater than Jonas is
here.
| | | |
Foremost, what is the definition for "heart of the
earth"? Heart of the earth is the core of the earth in the physical realm.
In spiritual realm, it is the lower parts of the earth, commonly known as
"Hell". The "lower
parts of the earth" describes
the abode of the dead according to Psalm 63:9 -- "But
those who seek my life, to destroy it, Shall go into the lower parts of the
earth." From the parable of the rich man and
beggar Lazarus, it tells us that the soul of the dead either goes to Hell or
Abraham's bosom (Paradise). In
Luke 16:22-23, Jesus said:
16:22 |
And it came to pass, that
the beggar died, and was carried by the angels into Abraham's bosom: the
rich man also died, and was buried;
16:23 |
And in hell
he lift up his
eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and
Lazarus in his bosom.
|
|
In Luke
23:42-43, it is the record of the conversation of Jesus with one of the
malefactors crucified with Him and Luke 23:46, his last few words on the
Cross.
23:42
|
And he said unto Jesus, Lord, remember me when thou comest into thy kingdom.
|
23:43
|
And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, Today shalt thou
be with me in paradise.
|
23:46
|
And when Jesus had cried with a loud voice, he said,
Father, into
thy hands I commend my spirit: and having said thus, he gave up the ghost {soul}.
|
Now, comparing the words of Jesus in Matthew 12:40, Luke
16:23, and Luke 23:43, the conclusion is that the soul of the dead will
descend to the lower parts of the earth which may be called Hell or
another place called Paradise and that the soul lives beyond the grave.
Apostle Paul in
Ephesians 4:7-10 revealed that Jesus descended to lower parts of the earth and
that he "might fill all things",
i.e., supremacy over all things. With His descent to the lower parts of the
earth {Hades} during his death, He is able to claim supremacy over all
things.
4:7
|
But unto every one of us is given grace according
to the measure of the gift of Christ.
|
4:8
|
Wherefore he saith, When he ascended up on
high, he led captivity captive, and gave gifts unto men.
|
4:9
|
(Now that he ascended, what is it but that
he also descended first into the lower parts of the
earth?
|
4:10
|
He that descended is the same also that ascended
up far above all heavens, that he might fill all things.)
|
Lord Jesus Christ did descend
into Hell to
demonstrate His supremacy over all things in heaven and in earth.
Colossians 1:19 says "For it pleased the Father that in him should all fulness dwell;"
In Revelation 1:18, the
sequence of Jesus' words is: I am He who lives, was
dead, alive forever,
and I have the keys of Hades and Death. It was
during his death for 3 days, He descended to Hades. His soul was not buried
(Luke 16:23) in the tomb for 3 days and then resurrected. Jesus would not say I
have the keys of Hades and Death if He
was not dead or did not even descend to Hades at all. The order of Jesus' words
has great implication. This is what Jesus
said: “I am He who lives, and was dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore. Amen. And I have the
keys of Hades and Death.” (Revelation 1:18)
Jesus knew in advance that He will be crucified, died and raised again.
Who know the future? Only God knows.
20:17 |
And Jesus going up to Jerusalem took the twelve disciples apart in the
way, and said unto them,
20:18 |
Behold, we go up to Jerusalem; and the Son of man shall be betrayed unto
the chief priests and unto the scribes, and they shall condemn him to death,
20:19 |
And shall deliver him to the
Gentiles to mock, and to scourge, and to
crucify him: and the third day he shall rise again.

Jesus
resurrected from the tomb on the third
day as foretold by Him. Jesus' supreme credential to authenticate His
claim to divinity was His resurrection from the dead. Who else can be resurrected when dead for 3 days? Lazarus was raised after dead
for 4 days but he was not resurrected because his body was perishable (2
Corinthians 15:42). Only GOD is able. In John
20:1-9, Apostle John testifies:
20:1
|
The first day of the week cometh Mary Magdalene early, when it was
yet dark, unto the sepulchre, and seeth the stone taken away from the
sepulchre.
20:2
|
Then she runneth, and cometh to Simon Peter, and to the other
disciple, whom Jesus loved, and saith unto them, They have taken away
the LORD out of the sepulchre, and we know not where they have laid him.
20:3
|
Peter therefore went forth, and that other disciple, and came to the
sepulchre.
20:4
|
So they ran both together: and the other disciple did outrun Peter,
and came first to the sepulchre.
20:5
|
And he stooping down, and looking in, saw the linen clothes lying;
yet went he not in.
20:6
|
Then cometh Simon Peter following him, and went into the sepulchre,
and seeth the linen clothes lie,
20:7
|
And the napkin, that was about his head, not lying with the linen
clothes, but wrapped together in a place by itself.
20:8
|
Then went in also that other disciple, which came first to the
sepulchre, and he saw, and believed.
20:9
|
For as yet they knew not the scripture, that
he must rise again from
the dead.
|
| | | | | | | |
The 11 disciples of Jesus saw Jesus alive after his resurrection. In
Matthew 28:16-17, Apostle Matthew testifies:
28:16
|
Then the eleven disciples went away into Galilee, into a mountain
where Jesus had appointed them.
28:17
|
And when they saw him, they worshipped him: but some doubted.
|
|
Apostle Thomas touched the resurrected Jesus and then he believed with
exclamation "My Lord and my GOD". In John 20:26-31, Apostle John
testifies:
20:26 |
And after eight days again his disciples were within, and Thomas
with them: then came Jesus, the doors being shut, and stood in the
midst, and said, Peace be unto you.
20:27 |
Then saith he to Thomas, Reach hither thy finger, and behold my
hands; and reach hither thy hand, and thrust it into my side: and be not
faithless, but believing.
20:28 |
And Thomas answered and said unto him, My
LORD and my God.
20:29 |
Jesus saith unto him, Thomas, because thou hast seen me, thou
hast believed: blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have
believed.
20:30 |
And many other signs truly did Jesus in the presence of his
disciples, which are not written in this book:
20:31 |
But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is
the Christ, the Son of God; and that
believing ye might have life through his name.
|
| | | | |
Apostle Paul says after Jesus ascension to Heaven, He still keep
contact with apostles {and believers} through the Holy Ghost and
fulfil His promise in Matthew 28:20 (... lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the
world. Amen."). In Acts 1:2-3, Apostle Paul through divine
revelation by Jesus, testifies:
1:2
|
Until the day in which he was taken up, after that he through the
Holy Ghost had given commandments unto the apostles whom he had chosen:
1:3
|
To whom also he shewed himself alive after his passion by many
infallible proofs, being seen of them forty days, and speaking of the
things pertaining to the kingdom of God:
|
|
Apostle John prostrated before Jesus and heard Him saying who He is. In
Revelation 1:17-18, Apostle John testifies:
1:17
|
And when I saw him, I fell at his feet as dead. And he laid
his right hand upon me, saying unto me, Fear not; I am the first and
the last:
1:18
|
I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive
for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death.
|
|
In Acts 10:39-43, Apostle Peter testifies:
10:39
|
And we are witnesses of all things which he did both in the
land of the Jews, and in Jerusalem; whom they slew and
hanged on a
tree:
10:40
|
Him God raised up the third day,
and shewed him openly;
10:41
|
Not to all the people, but unto witnesses chosen before of God, even
to us, who did eat and drink with him after he rose from the dead.
10:42
|
And he commanded us to preach unto the people, and to testify that it is he which was ordained of God to be the Judge of
quick and dead.
10:43
|
To him give all the prophets witness, that through his name
whosoever believeth in him shall receive remission
of sins.
|
| | | |
Apostle Peter
in 1 Peter 2:21-24 testifies:
2:21
|
For even
hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving
us an example, that ye should follow his steps:
|
2:22
|
Who did
no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth:
|
2:23
|
Who, when
he was reviled, reviled not again; when he suffered, he threatened not;
but committed himself to him that judgeth righteously:
|
2:24
|
Who his
own self bare our sins in his own body on
the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness:
by whose stripes ye were healed.
|
Did Jesus
hang on a tree or crucified on a cross? Hanged
on a tree is a term known by the time of the 1st century an
idiom for crucifixion. In Deutronomy 21:22-23, Moses says:
21:22
|
And if a
man have committed a sin worthy of death, and he be to be put to death,
and thou hang him on a tree:
|
21:23
|
His body
shall not remain all night upon the tree, but thou shalt in any wise bury
him that day; (for he that is hanged is accursed
of God;) that thy land be not defiled, which the LORD thy God
giveth thee for an inheritance.

Jesus
was in the beginning with GOD. He is
known as the Son of God on earth and as the WORD {OF GOD} in heaven (1
John 5:7).
Jesus is not GOD the Father but He is the Son of
GOD who came out from the only true GOD.
The famous
passage from John 1:1-3 says,
In
the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was
God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him;
and without him was not any thing made that was made. In
Revelation 19:13, Jesus Christ is also called
" The Word of God".
Hence,
John 1:1-3 can be re-phrased to read as follows:- In
the beginning was Jesus Christ
(the Word), and Jesus Christ (the
Word) was with God, and Jesus Christ (the Word) was God. The
same was in the beginning with God.
All things were made by him;
and without him was not any thing made that was made.
(Cross-reference to John 17:5 & Colossians
1:15-17)
Jesus
testified that He is greater than Abraham and exists before Abraham. In
John 8:52-58, Apostle John testifies that He heard Jesus debated with Jews
as follows:-
8:52
|
Then said
the Jews unto him, Now we know that thou hast a devil. Abraham is dead,
and the prophets; and thou sayest, If a man keep my saying, he shall
never taste of death.
|
8:53
|
Art
thou greater than our father Abraham, which is dead? and the prophets are
dead: whom makest thou thyself?
|
8:54
|
Jesus answered,
If I honour myself, my honour is nothing: it
is my Father that honoureth me; of whom ye say, that he is your God:
|
8:55
|
Yet ye have
not known him; but I know him: and if I should
say, I know him not, I shall be a liar like unto you: but I know him, and
keep his saying.
|
8:56
|
Your father
Abraham rejoiced to see my day: and he saw it, and was glad.
|
8:57
|
Then said
the Jews unto him, Thou art not yet fifty years old, and hast thou seen
Abraham?
|
8:58
|
Jesus
said unto them, Verily, verily,
I say unto you, Before Abraham was,
|
|
Jesus
further affirms that He was with God before
the world exists. Thus there is no doubt that Jesus is the Son of GOD. In John
17:5, Jesus said: "And now, O Father, glorify
thou me with thine own self with the glory which
I had with thee before the world was."
-
Jesus
has power to forgive sins. Who else can forgive sins? Only God has the authority to
forgive sins.
Jesus clearly demonstrated attributes which only God has. In Mark 2:5-12,
John Mark (Acts 15:37) who is author of Gospel of
Mark and companion of Apostle Paul on his first missionary journey (Acts
13:13) testifies as follows:
2:5
|
When Jesus
saw their faith, he said unto the sick of the palsy,
Son,
thy sins be forgiven thee.
|
2:6
|
But there
were certain of the scribes sitting there, and reasoning in their hearts,
|
2:7
|
Why doth
this man thus speak blasphemies? who can forgive
sins but God only?
|
2:8
|
And immediately
when Jesus perceived in his spirit that they so reasoned within themselves,
he said unto them, Why reason ye these things in your hearts?
|
2:9
|
Whether is
it easier to say to the sick of the palsy, Thy sins
be forgiven thee; or to say, Arise, and take up thy bed, and walk?
|
2:10
|
But
that ye may know that the Son of man hath power on earth to forgive sins,
(he saith to the sick of the palsy,)
|
2:11
|
I say unto
thee, Arise, and take up thy bed, and go thy way into thine house.
|
2:12
|
And immediately
he arose, took up the bed, and went forth before them all; insomuch that
they were all amazed, and glorified God, saying, We never saw it on this
fashion.
|
In
Luke 7:37-49, Dr. Luke testifies that Jesus forgive the sins of a sinful
woman.
7:37
|
And, behold,
a woman in the city, which was a sinner, when she knew that Jesus
sat at meat in the Pharisee's house, brought an alabaster box of ointment,
|
7:38
|
And stood
at his feet behind him weeping, and began to wash his feet with tears,
and did wipe them with the hairs of her head, and kissed his feet, and
anointed them with the ointment.
|
7:39
|
Now when
the Pharisee which had bidden him saw it, he spake within himself, saying,
This man, if he were a prophet, would have known who and what manner of
woman this is that toucheth him: for she is a sinner.
|
7:47
|
Wherefore
I say unto thee, Her sins, which are many, are forgiven; for she loved
much: but to whom little is forgiven, the same loveth little.
|
7:48
|
And he said
unto her, Thy sins are forgiven.
|
7:49
|
And they
that sat at meat with him began to say within themselves, Who
is this that forgiveth sins also?
|
GOD never sin and there is no sin in Him. Jesus has no
sin in Him and therefore He is GOD. We know the truth about Jesus' hidden life from the age of 40 days till 30
years directly from the revelation to Apostle John and Apostle Paul. Both
Apostles made clear revelation about Jesus that He knew no sin or in Him is no
sin. In 2 Corinthians 5:21 and 1 John 1:8 & 3:5, Apostle Paul and Apostle John
respectively testifies as follows:-
5:21
|
For He {GOD} hath made Him (Jesus}
to be sin for us, who knew no
sin; that we might be
made the righteousness of God in Him.
1:8
| If we say that we have no sin, we deceive
ourselves, and the truth is not
in us. |
3:5
|
And ye know that He {Jesus} was manifested to take away our sins; and
in Him is no sin.
|
|
Jesus Christ did not kill any living soul
nor speak lies otherwise there is no
truth that "in Him is no sin" because the commandment of God is 'thou
shall not kill" (Deutronomy 5:17).
-
So
close was Jesus relationship
with God that He equated a man's attitude to himself with man's attitude
to God. Jesus personally testifies as follows:-
i) To
know him was to know God (John 8:19, 14:15-17).
8:19
|
Then said
they unto him, Where is thy Father? Jesus answered,
Ye
neither know me, nor my Father: if ye had known me, ye should have known
my Father also.
|
14:5
|
Thomas saith
unto him, Lord, we know not whither thou goest; and how can we know the
way?
|
14:6
|
Jesus saith
unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life:
no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
|
14:7
|
If
ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also: and from henceforth
ye know him, and have seen him.
|
ii) To
see him was to see God ( John 12:45, 14:9).
12:45
|
And he
that seeth me seeth him that sent me.
|
14:19
|
Yet a little
while, and the world seeth me no more; but ye see me: because I live,
ye shall live also.
|
iii) To
believe in him was to to believe in God (John 12:44, 14:1).
12:44
|
Jesus cried
and said, He that believeth on me, believeth not on me, but on him that
sent me.
|
14:1
|
Let not your
heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.
|
iv) To
receive him was to receive God (Mark 9:37).
9:37
|
Whosoever
shall receive one of such children in my name, receiveth me: and whosoever
shall receive me, receiveth not me, but him that sent me.
|
v) To hate
him was to hate God (John 15:23)
15:23
|
He
that hateth me hateth my Father also.
|
vi) And
to honor him was to honour God (John 5:23)
5:23
|
That
all men should honour the Son, even as they honour the Father.
He that honoureth not the Son honoureth not the Father which hath sent
him.
|
-
Jesus
has power to restore sight to the blind which only God has. In John
9:1-11, Apostle John testifies as follows:
9:1
|
And as
Jesus passed by, he saw a man which was blind
from his birth.
|
9:2
|
And his disciples
asked him, saying, Master, who did sin, this man, or his parents, that
he was born blind
|
9:3
|
Jesus
answered, Neither hath this man sinned,
nor his parents: but that the works of God should be made manifest in him.
|
9:4
|
I must work
the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when
no man can work.
|
9:5
|
As long as
I am in the world, I am the light of the world.
|
9:6
|
When he had
thus spoken, he spat on the ground, and made clay of the spittle, and he
anointed the eyes of the blind man with the clay,
|
9:7
|
And
said unto him, Go, wash in the pool of Siloam, (which is by interpretation,
Sent.) He went his way therefore, and washed, and came seeing.
|
9:8
|
The neighbours
therefore, and they which before had seen him that he was blind, said,
Is not this he that sat and begged
|
9:9
|
Some said,
This is he: others said, He is like him: but he said, I am he.
|
9:10
|
Therefore
said they unto him, How were thine eyes opened
|
9:11
|
He answered
and said, A man that is called Jesus made clay, and anointed mine eyes,
and said unto me, Go to the pool of Siloam, and wash: and
I went and washed, and I received sight.

Jesus
demonstrated a power over natural forces which belong only to God, the
author of these forces. He stilled a raging storm of wind and waves
on the Sea of Galilee. In Mark 4:37-41, John Mark
(Acts 15:37) who is author of Gospel of Mark and companion of Apostle Paul
on his first missionary journey (Acts 13:13) testifies as follows:-
4:37
|
And there
arose a great storm of wind, and the waves beat into the ship, so that
it was now full.
|
4:38
|
And he was
in the hinder part of the ship, asleep on a pillow: and they awake him,
and say unto him, Master, carest thou not that we perish
|
4:39
|
And he arose,
and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind
ceased, and there was a great calm.
|
4:40
|
And he said
unto them, Why are ye so fearful how is it that ye have no faith
|
4:41
|
And they
feared exceedingly, and said one to another, What
manner of man is this, that even the wind and the sea obey him
|
-
Jesus
has power to raise the dead even though dead for 4 days. In John
11:1-4,24-27&35-45, Apostle John testifies as follows:
11:1
|
Now a certain
man was sick, named Lazarus, of Bethany, the town of Mary and her
sister Martha.
|
11:2
|
(It was that
Mary which anointed the Lord with ointment, and wiped his feet with her
hair, whose brother Lazarus was sick.)
|
11:3
|
Therefore
his sisters sent unto him, saying, Lord, behold, he whom thou lovest is
sick.
|
11:4
|
When Jesus
heard that, he said, This sickness
is not unto death, but for the glory of God, that the
Son of God might be glorified thereby.
|
|
|
11:24
|
Martha saith
unto him, I know that he shall rise again in the resurrection at the last
day.
|
11:25
|
Jesus
said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in
me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:
|
11:26
|
And whosoever
liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this
|
11:27
|
She saith
unto him, Yea, Lord: I believe that thou art the Christ, the Son of God, which should come into the world.
|
11:35
|
Jesus wept.
|
11:36
|
Then said
the Jews, Behold how he loved him!
|
11:37
|
And some
of them said, Could not this man, which opened the eyes of the blind, have
caused that even this man should not have died
|
11:38
|
Jesus therefore
again groaning in himself cometh to the grave. It was a cave, and a stone
lay upon it.
|
11:39
|
Jesus said,
Take ye away the stone. Martha, the sister of him that was dead, saith
unto him, Lord, by this time he stinketh: for he hath been dead four
days.
|
11:40
|
Jesus saith
unto her, Said I not unto thee, that, if thou wouldest believe, thou
shouldest see the glory of God
|
11:41
|
Then they
took away the stone from the place where the dead was laid. And Jesus lifted
up his eyes, and said, Father, I thank thee that
thou hast heard me.
|
11:42
|
And
I knew that thou hearest me always: but because
of the people which stand by I said it, that
they may believe that thou hast sent me.
|
11:43
|
And when
he thus had spoken, he cried with a loud voice, Lazarus, come forth.
|
11:44
|
And he
that was dead came forth, bound hand and foot with graveclothes: and
his face was bound about with a napkin. Jesus saith unto them, Loose him,
and let him go.
|
11:45
|
Then many
of the Jews which came to Mary, and had seen the things which Jesus did,
believed on him.
|
-
Jesus
Christ was crucified, dead and buried. But He rose again and is Alive
today. After resurrection, Jesus appeared to doubting Thomas to
show his pierced hands and side; Apostle Thomas declares Jesus as "My Lord
and my GOD". In John 20:26-29, Apostle John testifies as follows:
20:26
|
And after
eight days again his disciples were within, and Thomas with them:
then came Jesus, the doors being shut, and stood in the midst, and said,
Peace be unto you.
|
20:27
|
Then saith
he to Thomas, Reach hither thy finger, and behold my hands; and reach
hither thy hand, and thrust it into my side: and be not faithless, but
believing.
|
20:28
|
And Thomas
answered and said unto him, My LORD and my God.
|
20:29
|
Jesus saith
unto him, Thomas, because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed: blessed
are they that have not seen, and yet have believed.
|
-
Jesus
holds the keys of Hades and Death. Who else holds such noble position?
In the Book of Revelation 1:18 written by Apostle John, Jesus Himself testifies:
1:18
|
I am he that
liveth, and was dead; and, behold,
I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death.
|
-
Jesus
will return to earth as Chief Judge of the world. If Jesus is not all-powerful
God, how can He return to judge the whole World?
In
John 12:17-48, Apostle John testifies as follows:
|
Jesus'
First Coming
|
12:47
|
And if any
man hear my words, and believe not, I judge him not: for
I came not
to judge the world, but to save the world.
|
12:48
|
He that rejecteth
me, and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him: the word
that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last Day.
|
In
John 5:22-27, Apostle John testifies as follows:
|
Jesus'
Second Coming
|
5:22
|
For the Father
judgeth no man, but hath committed all judgment unto the Son:
|
5:23
|
That all
men should honour the Son, even as they honour the Father. He that honoureth
not the Son honoureth not the Father which hath sent him.
|
5:24
|
Verily,
verily, I say unto you, He that heareth
my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life,
and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.
|
5:25
|
Verily,
verily, I say unto you, The hour is coming, and now is, when
the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God: and they
that hear shall live.
|
5:26
|
For as the
Father hath life in himself; so hath he given to the Son to have life in
himself;
|
5:27
|
And
hath given him authority to execute judgment also, because he is the Son
of man.

Jesus
Christ is the image of invisible God, firstborn of every creature and pre-eminence
in all things. In Colossians 1:12-18, Apostle Paul who received the truth
by revelation of Jesus Christ (Galatians 1:12 -- For I neither received
it of man, neither was I taught it, but by the revelation of Jesus Christ),
testifies as follows:-
1:12
|
Giving thanks
unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance
of the saints in light:
|
1:13
|
Who hath
delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the
kingdom of his dear Son:
|
1:14
|
In whom we
have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins:
|
1:15
|
Who is
the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature:
|
1:16
|
For
by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth,
visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities,
or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:
|
1:17
|
And he is
before all things, and by him all things consist.
|
1:18
|
And he is
the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn
from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence.
|
-
Jesus'
commandments will have right to "Garden of Eden" to eat from the Tree
of Life (Eternity) which Adam and Eve were expelled from. But the
false prophets and liars have no place in it. In Revelation 22:14-16, Apostle
John author of Book of Revelation testifies as follows:
22:14
|
Blessed are
they that do His commandments, that
they may have right to the Tree of Life,
and may enter in through the gates into the city.
|
22:15
|
For without
are dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters,
and whosoever loveth and maketh a lie.
|
22:16
|
I Jesus have
sent mine angel to testify unto you these things in the churches. I am
the root and the offspring of David, and the bright and morning star.

Jesus
Christ is the great high priest forever after the order of Melchisedec.
For this Melchisedec, king of Salem, priest of the most high God, who met
Abraham returning from the slaughter of the kings, and blessed him. Without
father, without mother, without descent, having neither beginning
of days, nor end of life; but made like unto the Son of God; abideth a
priest continually. No doubt Melchisedec is great and a priest not by physical
descent. Jesus also became a great high priest not after a legal regulation
about physical descent but after the power of an indestructible life. Futhermore,
Jesus did so with sworn affirmation "you are a priest forever after the
order of Melchisedec". In Hebrews 4:14-15, 5:1-6 & 7:14-28, Apostle
Paul who knows Brother Timothy (Hebrew 13:23), testifies as follows:
4:14
|
Seeing then
that we have a great high priest, that
is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son
of God, let us hold fast our profession.
|
4:15
|
For we have
not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of
our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without
sin.
|
5:1
|
For
every high priest taken from among men is ordained for men in
things pertaining to God, that he may offer both
gifts and sacrifices for sins:
|
5:2
|
Who can have
compassion on the ignorant, and on them that are out of the way; for that
he himself also is compassed with infirmity.
|
5:3
|
And
by reason hereof he ought, as for the people, so also for himself, to offer
for sins.
|
5:4
|
And no man
taketh this honour unto himself, but he that is
called of God, as was Aaron.
|
5:5
|
So also Christ
glorified not himself to be made an high priest; but he that said unto
him, Thou art my Son, to day have I begotten thee.
|
5:6
|
As he saith
also in another place, Thou art a priest forever
after the order of Melchisedec.
|
7:14
|
For it is
evident that our Lord sprang out of Juda; of which tribe Moses spake nothing
concerning priesthood.
|
7:15
|
And it is
yet far more evident: for that after the similitude of Melchisedec there
ariseth another priest,
|
7:16
|
Who is made,
not after the law of a carnal commandment, but
after the power of an endless life.
|
7:17
|
For he testifieth,
Thou art a priest forever after the order of Melchisedec.
|
7:18
|
For there
is verily a disannulling of the commandment going before for the weakness
and unprofitableness thereof.
|
7:19
|
For the law
made nothing perfect, but the bringing in of a better hope did; by the
which we draw nigh unto God.
|
7:20
|
And inasmuch
as not without an oath he was made priest:
|
7:21
|
(For those
priests were made without an oath; but this with an oath by him that
said unto him, The Lord sware and will not repent, Thou art a priest
for ever after the order of Melchisedec:)
|
7:22
|
By so much
was Jesus made a surety of a better testament.
|
7:23
|
And they
truly were many priests, because they were not suffered to continue by
reason of death:
|
7:24
|
But this
man, because he continueth ever, hath an unchangeable priesthood.
|
7:25
|
Wherefore
he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him,
seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them.
|
7:26
|
For such
an high priest became us, who is holy, harmless, undefiled, separate from
sinners, and made higher than the heavens;
|
7:27
|
Who needeth
not daily, as those high priests, to offer up sacrifice, first for his
own sins, and then for the people's: for this he did once, when he offered
up himself.
|
7:28
|
For the law
maketh men high priests which have infirmity; but
the word of the oath, which was since the law, maketh the Son, who is consecrated
for evermore.
|
-
The
name of Jesus is above all other names. Thus Jesus is superior than any
other prophets. In Philippians 2:5-11, Apostle Paul testifies as follows:
2:5
|
Let this
mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:
|
2:6
|
Who, being
in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God:
|
2:7
|
But made
himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and
was made in the likeness of men:
|
2:8
|
And being
found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto
death, even the death of the cross.
|
2:9
|
Wherefore
God also hath highly exalted him, and given him
a name which is above every name:
|
2:10
|
That at
the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in
heaven, and things in earth,
and things under the earth;
|
2:11
|
And that
every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ
is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
|
-
Jesus
Christ is higher
in authority than angels, authorities, powers
and rulers of darkness of this world.
In
1 Peter 3:18-22, Apostle Peter testifies as follows:
3:18
|
For Christ
also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might
bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the
Spirit:
|
3:19
|
By which
also he went and preached unto the spirits in
prison;
|
3:20
|
Which sometime
were disobedient, when once the longsuffering of God waited in the days
of Noah, while the ark was a preparing, wherein few, that is, eight souls
were saved by water.
|
3:21
|
The like
figure whereunto even baptism doth also now save us (not the putting away
of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God,)
by the resurrection of Jesus Christ:
|
3:22
|
Who is gone
into heaven, and is on the right hand of God; angels and authorities
and powers being made subject unto him.
|
In
Ephesians 6:12, Apostle Paul testifies:
6:12
|
For we wrestle
not against flesh and blood, but against principalities,
against
powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against
spiritual wickedness in high places.
|
In
Matthew 28:18, Apostle Matthew testifies:
28:18
|
And Jesus
came and spake unto them, saying, All power is
given unto me in heaven and in earth.
|
-
Jesus
ascended to Heaven in the presence of many
witnesses. His ascension in full view of his disciples confirmed that His
words are truthful and GOD welcome his SON back home. Moreover, Jesus will
return to earth which no other prophets in the past have ever promised
in advance (Acts 1:11). Only GOD who lives to eternity is able to return
in thousands of years in the future. So Jesus must be GOD! In Acts 1:8-12,
Apostle Paul testifies that Jesus was taken up to heaven from Mount of
Olives.
1:8
|
But ye shall receive power, after that the
Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in
Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part
of the earth.
|
1:9
|
And when he had spoken these things, while
they beheld, he was taken up; and a cloud received him out of their sight.
|
1:10
|
And while they looked stedfastly toward
heaven as he went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel;
|
1:11
|
Which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why
stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus,
which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner
as ye have seen him go into heaven.
|
1:12
|
Then returned they unto Jerusalem from the
mount called Olivet, which is from Jerusalem a sabbath day's journey.
|
Apostle
Paul confirmed there were above 500 people saw the resurrected Christ in
1 Corinthians 15:1-7.
15:1
|
Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the
gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein
ye stand;
|
15:2
|
By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in
memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.
|
15:3
|
For I delivered unto you first of all that
which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the
scriptures;
|
15:4
|
And that he was buried, and that he rose
again the third day according to the scriptures:
|
15:5
|
And that he was seen of Cephas, then of
the twelve:
|
15:6
|
After that, he was seen of above five
hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this
present, but some are fallen asleep.
|
15:7
|
After that, he was seen of James; then of
all the apostles.
|
15:8
|
And last of all he was seen of me also, as
of one born out of due time.
|
In Revelations
22:12 & 20, Jesus promised to come again quickly:
22:12
|
And, behold, I come
quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work
shall be.
|
22:20
|
He which testifieth these things saith, Surely
I come quickly. Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus.

Clarification
on Common Misconception
However,
what did Jesus really mean when He says:
"My
Father is greater than I." John 14:28
-
"
My Father... is greater than ALL." (John 10:29)
-
" I
can of mine own self do NOTHING: ... I seek not mine own will, but the
will of the Father which hath sent me.
(John 5:30)."
-
"...
neither he that is sent greater than he that sent him.
(John 13:16)."
-
"But of that day
and that hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels which are in heaven, neither
the SON, but the Father
(Mark 13:32)." A
similar event is documented in Mark 11:12-13 where Jesus appears ignorant
of the fruiting season of the fig tree. "God according to Judaism, Christianity
and Islam has knowledge of everything. Jesus according to the Gospels had
limited knowledge and therefore can not be God."
In
order to understand the above passages, one needs to read the text accurately,
attentively and intelligently. Then refer to the context and also refer
to the cross-text of the scriptures to draw the right deductions. Interpretation
is trying to discover what God meant when He said what He said.
That is the truth and truth you cannot change. And when God said something,
He only meant one thing. That one thing which He said is what we need to
understand. Quoting from a few verses can easily apply it
out of context.
Study the Bible thoroughly is the key to better understanding. Jesus
was then speaking as a Son of Man during his earthly ministry and doing
the perfect will of God.
was then speaking as a Son of Man during his earthly ministry and doing
the perfect will of God.
was then speaking as a Son of Man during his earthly ministry and doing
the perfect will of God. He (Phil. 2:5) cooperated with the limitations
of being a man and was in a lower position than the Father (Heb. 2:9) for
a while.
1)
"My Father is greater than I" (John 14:28)
When did He say it and what did He really mean? Let us examine the whole
verse of John 14:28 in order to understand what Jesus really mean.
14:28
|
Ye have heard
how I said unto you, I go away, and come again unto you. If ye loved me,
ye would rejoice, because I said, I go unto the Father: for
my Father is greater than I. (KJV)
|
When, where,
what, why and whom was Jesus talking to? Jesus was talking to His disciples
during the last hours before His crucifixion in the vicinity of Mount of
Olives in Jerusalem - a historical place where Jesus once preached and was
crucified. As He was telling His disciples and gave the reason for His departure,
He was making reference of himself as a Son of Man to His Father who is
greater than Him. The reason given "for my Father is greater than I" justifies
His return to His Father otherwise there is no need for him to go back
to His Father. That explained why He have to return to His Father. Having
said that, is His Father greater than Him in heaven? His disciples understood
what He was saying. Let us examine further to the cross-text of what Jesus said
to His disciples in John 16:27-30.
16:27
|
For the Father
himself loveth you, because ye have loved me, and have believed
that I came out from God.
|
16:28
|
I
came forth from the Father, and am come into the world: again, I
leave the world, and go to the Father.
|
16:29
|
His disciples
said unto him, Lo, now speakest thou plainly, and speakest no proverb.
|
16:30
|
Now are we
sure that thou knowest all things,
and needest not that any man should ask thee: by
this we believe that thou camest forth from God.
|
Is
Jesus lower than His Father when He incarnated or came to the world? Let
us hear from Jesus’ own lips in John 10:17-18. Jesus left His glory in
the throne of GOD and lower His position for a while to incarnate into
the world. Thus it explained why Jesus said "for
my Father is greater than I". Jesus needs to return to His Father
in order to restore to His former Glory which He had with His Father before
the world was (John 17:5).
10:17
|
Therefore
doth my Father love me, because I lay down my
life, that I might take it again.
|
10:18
|
No
man taketh it from me, but I lay it down of myself. I have power
to lay it down, and I have power to take it again.
This commandment have I received of my Father.
|
17:5
|
And now,
O Father, glorify thou me with thine own self with the glory which
I had with thee before the world was.
|
2) "
My Father... is greater than ALL." (John 10:29). Similarly,
we examine what Jesus really said in John 10:29. Does it mean God the Father
is greater than Jesus?
10:29
|
My
Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man
is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand.
|
In this particular
context, Jesus said His Father is greater than all. Did Jesus say ALL is
inclusive of Him? The presumption is proven false by what Jesus said in
the subsequent verses in John 10:30-36
which equate Himself as GOD. In other words, God the Father and Jesus are
One, is greater than ALL {Muhammad, Buddha, Gandhi and so on}. The Jews understood
what Jesus was saying.
10:30
|
I
and my Father are One.
|
10:31
|
Then the
Jews took up stones again to stone him.
|
10:32
|
Jesus answered
them, Many good works have I shewed you from my
Father; for which of those works do ye stone me?
|
10:33
|
The Jews
answered him, saying, For a good work we stone thee not; but for
blasphemy; and because that thou, being a man, makest thyself God.
|
10:34
|
Jesus answered
them, Is it not written in your law, I said, Ye are gods?
|
10:35
|
If he called
them gods, unto whom the word of God came, and the
scripture cannot be broken;
|
10:36
|
Say ye of
him, whom the Father hath sanctified, and sent into the world, Thou blasphemest;
because I said, I am the Son of God?
|
3) " I
can of mine own self do NOTHING: ... I seek
not mine own will, but the will of the Father which hath sent me.
(John 5:30)." This
particular verse is in fact self-explanatory. Jesus is obedient to do the
will of the Father and set the highest example for every man to emulate.
He performs many miracles which only God can do.
5:30
|
I can of
mine own self do nothing: as I hear, I judge: and my judgment is
just; because I seek not mine own will, but the will of the
Father which hath sent me.
|
Let us refer
to the cross-text of what Jesus said in John 6:38-40
in respect of His Father's will. Thus Jesus did NOTHING of his own self
by His own will. Men cannot fulfil the will of the Father in total obedience.
This proves Jesus is Son of God as only GOD can be perfect to fulfil the
will.
6:38
|
For
I came down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of him that
sent me.
|
6:39
|
And this
is the Father's will which hath sent me, that
of all which he hath given me I should lose nothing, but should raise it
up again at the last day.
|
6:40
|
And this
is the will of him that sent me, that every
one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life:
and I will raise him up at the last day.
|
4)
"... neither he that is sent
greater than he that sent him.
(John 13:16)." Let
us read the verse John 13:16 attentively and listen to what Jesus really
mean. The quotation given is in fact an incomplete statement made by Jesus.
13:16
|
Verily, verily,
I say unto you, The servant is not greater than
his lord; neither he that is sent greater than he that sent him.
|
In John 13:16,
Jesus was emphazing that servant is not greater than his master and in
fact not making any comparison between Himself and His Father. As Jesus
is called Lord (John 13:13), He is greater than whoever is called servant.
In order to understand its context better, let us refer to the verses from
John 13:13-17 and then refer to cross-text in John 15:20.on what Jesus
really said. He means that as the Master is persecuted while on earth,
his disciples who are no greater than his Master will also suffer persecution
and the persecutors are sinful because whoever hates Jesus also hates his
Father. Nevertheless, CHRISTians who are believer of Jesus Christ suffer
much persecution today in countries ruled by unbelievers. This prophecy
of Jesus came true.
13:13
|
Ye
call me Master and Lord: and ye say well; for so I am.
|
13:14
|
If I then,
your Lord and Master, have washed your feet; ye also ought to wash one
another's feet.
|
13:15
|
For I have
given you an example, that ye should do as I have done to you.
|
13:16
|
Verily, verily,
I say unto you, The servant is not greater than
his lord; neither he that is sent greater than he that sent him.
|
13:17
|
If ye know
these things, happy are ye if ye do them.
|
15:20
|
Remember
the word that I said unto you, The servant is
not greater than his lord. If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute
you; if they have kept my saying, they will keep yours also.
|
15:21
|
But all these
things will they do unto you for my name's sake, because they know not
him that sent me.
|
15:22
|
If
I had not come and spoken unto them, they had not had sin: but now they
have no cloak for their sin.
|
15:23
|
He
that hateth me hateth my Father also.
|
5) " But
of that day and that hour knoweth no man, no, not
the angels which are in heaven, neither the SON,
but the Father
(Mark 13:32)."
Why
the SON does not know that day and that hour {end times}? He has
different functions in the Trinity and speak whatsoever that the Father
said to him and not of his own. The
Son incarnated and came in the flesh to preach the Kingdom of God but the
Father is Spirit remains on the throne in Heaven while Holy Ghost is sent
by Jesus to the world after his ascension, to reprove the world of sin,
of righteousness, and of judgment:
Let us refer to what Jesus said about his words in John 12:49-50 and 16:7-8:

Let us refer to what Jesus said about his words in John 12:49-50 and 16:7-8:
12:49
|
For
I have not spoken of myself; but the Father which sent me, he
gave me a commandment, what I should say, and what I should
speak.
|
12:50
|
And I know
that his commandment is life everlasting: whatsoever
I speak therefore, even as the Father said unto me, so I speak.
|
16:7
|
Nevertheless
I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I
go not away, the Comforter {Holy Ghost} will not come unto you; but
if I depart, I will send him unto you.
|
16:8
|
And when
he is come, he will reprove the world of sin,
and of righteousness, and of judgment:
|
After understanding
on whose authority Jesus was preaching, the eternal Father and the Holy
Ghost who come after him, let us refer to the cross-text in Acts 1:7 spoken
by Jesus:
1:7
|
And he said
unto them, It is not for you to know the times
or the seasons, which the Father hath put in his own power.
|
Jesus is equal
to GOD but not greater than the eternal Father and the times or dates that
the eternal Father has set in His own power, is not permitted to be revealed.
Apostle Paul
knew a man in Christ, was caught up to third heaven and heard things too
sacred to be put in words, things a person is not permitted to speak. Likewise,
the SON is not permitted to reveal the times or the seasons. In 2 Corinthians
12:3-4, Apostle Paul testifies:
12:3
|
And I knew
such a man, (whether in the body, or out of the body, I cannot tell: God
knoweth;)
|
12:4
|
How that
he was caught up into paradise, and heard unspeakable words, which it is
not lawful for a man to utter.
|
Every thing
and every word Jesus did and said is for a specific purpose that you may
know Him who was sent and came from GOD. Jesus did not find any fruit on
fig tree because it was not season for figs. We have to understand that
Jesus is total MAN and total GOD because of his divine origin. Jesus was
hungry just like you and me - a human being. GOD never gets hungry, does
He? We have to look at the whole picture of GOD and not selectively from
a single verse taken out of context. In Mark 11:12-14 & 20-22, let
us refer to its context for better understanding whether Jesus really did
not know the fruiting season for figs or for the primary objective to demonstrate
to his disciples about the authority of his spoken word which ultimately
God is glorified.
11:12
|
And on the
morrow, when they were come from Bethany, he was hungry:
|
11:13
|
And seeing
a fig tree afar off having leaves, he came, if haply he might find any
thing thereon: and when he came to it, he found nothing but leaves; for
the time of figs was not yet.
|
11:14
|
And Jesus
answered and said unto it, No man eat fruit of
thee hereafter forever. And his disciples heard it.
|
11:20
|
And in the
morning, as they passed by, they saw the fig tree dried up from the
roots.
|
11:21
|
And Peter
calling to remembrance saith unto him, Master, behold,
the fig tree which thou cursedst is withered away.
|
11:22
|
And Jesus
answering saith unto them, Have faith in God.
|
Jesus' words
"Have faith in GOD" have an implication to have faith in Him, Son of
God. On the contrary,
He knew the person of Nathanel even before meeting him. Does it proves
Jesus is the Son of GOD? Let us read what the believer Nathanel declares
about Jesus in John 1:47-51.
1:47
|
Jesus saw
Nathanael coming to him, and saith of him, Behold
an Israelite indeed, in whom is no guile!
|
1:48
|
Nathanael
saith unto him, Whence knowest thou me? Jesus answered and said
unto him, Before that Philip called thee, when
thou wast under the fig tree, I saw thee.
|
1:49
|
Nathanael
answered and saith unto him, Rabbi, thou art the Son
of God; thou art the King of Israel.
|
Whosoever
confess that Jesus Christ is NOT the Son of
God has the spirit of antichrist and spirit of error. In 1 John
4:1-6 & 15-16, Apostle John warns that:
4:1
|
Beloved,
believe not every spirit, but
try the spirits whether they are of God:
because many false prophets are gone
out into the world.
|
4:2
|
Hereby know
ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth
that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God:
|
4:3
|
And every
spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the
flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit
of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and
even now already is it in the world.
|
4:4
|
Ye are of
God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that
is in you, than he that is in the world.
|
4:5
|
They are
of the world: therefore speak they of the world, and the world heareth
them.
|
4:6
|
We
are of God: he that knoweth God heareth us; he that is not of
God heareth not us. Hereby know we the spirit
of truth, and the spirit of error.
|
4:15
|
Whosoever
shall confess that Jesus is the Son of God,
God dwelleth in him, and he in God.
|
4:16
|
And we have
known and believed the love that God hath to us. God
is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God
in him.
|
In 2 Corinthians
11:4, 13-14, Apostle Paul warns that:
11:4
|
For
if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not
preached, or if ye receive another spirit, which ye have not received,
or another gospel, which ye have not
accepted, ye might well bear with him.
|
11:13
|
For such
are false apostles, deceitful workers,
transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ.
|
11:14
|
And no marvel;
for Satan himself is transformed into an angel
of light.
|
In
Matthew 7:15-20, Jesus warns
that:
|
Beware of
false prophets, which come to you in
sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.
|
|
Ye
shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns,
or figs of thistles?
|
|
Even so every
good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth
evil fruit.
|
|
A
good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring
forth good fruit.
|
|
Every tree
that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.
|
|
Wherefore
by their fruits ye shall know them.
|
Conclusion:
The true
Gospel of Jesus' life and ministry on earth were recorded by His eye-witnesses
and apostles namely John, Peter and Matthew. We have the testimonies of
Angel Gabriel, Apostle John, Apostle Peter, Apostle Matthew, Apostle Paul
and Jesus Himself all declaring that He is the Son
of God. Furthermore God the Father, the Word and Holy Ghost are
three that bear record in Heaven testifying
of His Son Jesus. In 1 John 5:7-10, Apostle John testifies as follows:
5:7
|
For there
are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word,
and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.
|
5:8
|
And there
are three that bear witness in earth, the Spirit, and the water,
and the blood: and these three agree in one.
|
5:9
|
If we receive
the witness of men, the witness of God is greater:
for this is the witness of God which He hath testified
of his Son.
|
5:10
|
He that believeth
on the Son of God hath the witness
in himself: he that believeth not God hath made Him a liar; because
he believeth not the record that God gave of his Son.
|
In 1 John 5:8,
the meaning is this: there are three {ocassions} that bear witness while Jesus
was on earth; the first ocassion is when he was baptised in the water by John the Baptist , he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting
upon him and the voice from heaven saying "This is my beloved
Son, in
whom I am well pleased" (Matthew 3:16-17), the second ocassion is when
Jesus was on the Holy Mount and the voice came out of the cloud saying "
This is my beloved Son, hear him" (Luke 9:28, 34-35) and the third
occasion is when he was about to suffer death on the Cross and shed the blood for humanity, the voice from heaven saying
"I have both glorified it, and will glorify it again."(John
12:28-30). These three are in one accord.
According
to Mosaic law of the Torah, the testimony of 3 witnesses shall establish
the matter. Jesus says, “But if he will not hear thee, then take
with thee one or two more, that in the mouth of two or three witnesses
every word may be established. “-- (Matthew 18:16). As we have at
least 8 witnesses namely GOD the Father, Jesus the Son,
Holy Ghost, Angel Gabriel, Apostle John, Apostle Simon Peter, Apostle Paul and
Satan, the matter is hereby
established that Jesus Christ is the Son of God
according to the Scriptures. It is not what men or an Angel revealed about
Jesus Christ that authenticates His true identity. Messiah Jesus is more
than a prophet. The testimony of Jesus Christ himself bears greater weight
than any other prophets.
Having
said that Jesus is the Son of God, He is also Son of Man. He has flesh
and blood in human form. This means that Jesus' divinity and his humanity
co-exists as one. While on earth He speaks both as the Son of Man and as
the Son of God. By his works on earth we are convinced that He came from
God and is sent by His Father to do his Father's will and not his own will.
After his ascension to his Father, He is restored to His former Glory.
In John 16:28, Jesus said: "I came forth from the
Father, and am come into the world:
again, I leave the world, and go to the Father." John
14:28 bears witness that Father is greater than Jesus so it is justified
for his ascension to God and ask the Advocates to come in His name. While
Jesus was on earth, He did not boast that He is greater than his Father
but He equates himself to God. Jesus' meaning of "my Father is greater
than I" is because He had lay down his seat of glory in the throne of heaven
for a while and came down to earth for His mission (Refer John 10:18).
Nevertheless,
the Apostles of Jesus did not misunderstand Him just from the above passages
and declares him as a liar. Those disbelieve that He is the Son of God does
not change the truth. Nay, they are deceived or rather misunderstood. Now
every miracle Jesus performed is to demonstrate his supremacy over it.
Jesus' works on earth is considered "all-powerful" in relation to any other
prophets known on earth. Why people do not believe Jesus is the Son of
God is because they are blinded by {Satan} god of this world from the truth (2
Corinthians 4:4) and deceived by the spirit of anti-christ (1 John 2:22-23,
1 John 4:1-3, 1 Corinthians 12:3 & 2 Corinthians 11:4).
Many believe
that Jesus was a great moral teacher but deny him as the Son of God. However,
they fail to realize those 2 statements are a contradiction. Jesus could
hardly be a great moral teacher if, on
the most crucial point of His teaching,
i.e., his identity, he was a deliberate liar.
The Biblical
record is accurate. Who on earth is more powerful than Lord Jesus Christ.
There is none equal to Lord Jesus Christ. He is alive and sitteth at the right
hand side of God the Almighty. There is only one true God who co-exists
as 3 distinct divine persons known as the Father, the Son and the Holy Ghost and that Jesus
Christ is the Son of the onlytrue God.
Based on
the principle taught by Jesus Christ, by the fruits (works) of a prophet,
we shall know whether the prophet is serving the true God or not. As prophet is the spokesman of God, his works will bear witness whom he
serves. Looking at the life history of Jesus Christ and his ministry on
earth, he spoke the truth and killed none but save many. He is sinless,
not a liar, nor a murderer, nor blasphemer, nor adulterer and nor
advocater of polygamy. He came not to be served but to serve. He
was crucified, died and buried but his body did not decay in the tomb and
rose again on the third day. He is alive! After
GOD sent His Son who is far greater than any prophets, to proclaim the
salvation plan to the world, He accomplished the redemptive works on earth.
GOD does not need any more prophets because what need to be revealed to
mankind has been made known by the only begotten Son of God. The best has been
given to mankind and what is required for eternal life is to believed in the
Son of God and the only true God. Believe that there is only one God is
inadequate because devils also believe there is one God and tremble (James
2:19). What a big deal? Does Satan and devils get spared from eternal lake of
burning fire since they believe there is one God?
This article is written with clear conscience and by inspiration
of the Anointing as in 1 John 2:27:
2:27
|
But the anointing which ye have received
of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as
the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is
no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him.

Misinterpretation
of the Scripture will only distort the mind but does not change the truth. In
conclusion, Lord Jesus is the Son of God, the most Holy One and the all-powerful
GOD.
Bible scholars
have a slight different opinion than the archeologist Dr. William F. Albright
and believed that the Gospel of John was written by Apostle John around AD
85-90. Apostle John saw and heard what Lord Jesus Christ did and said
during His earthly ministry. Apostle John also wrote the Book of Revelation
around AD 95. He was an old man but not dead yet when the Gospel of John was
circulated. The reliability of this Gospel of John should never be questioned.
The Jews during the contemporaries of Apostle John would have destroy it if it
was merely a heresy or fable. For a mere fabrication story about Jesus
Christ's incarnation, crucifixion and resurrection, in the form of the Gospel,
to have gained the circulation and to have had impact it had, without shred of
basis in fact, is incredible. "This
is the disciple which testifieth of these things, and wrote these things: and
we know that his testimony is true." (John 21:24) KJV The Book on the
Gospel of John can be read online from the link below.
